Mood Makers of VTM9

𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐖𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐌𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐌𝐀𝐊𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐘𝐎𝐔? Every milonga at VTM9 carries a different theme, a different atmosphere, a different colour of emotion. And the music travels with it. Our Mood Makers are not here simply to play their own milonga. They are part of one musical journey — listening to the room, feeling the crowd, connecting with other music lovers, and carrying the energy from one moment into the next. One DJ leaves a feeling in the air. Another picks it up and takes it somewhere new. The music may lift you high, let you float, pull you deeper, or simply hold you quietly inside the moment. 𝑫𝒊𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒔. 𝑫𝒊𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒄𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔. 𝑫𝒊𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒈𝒖𝒊𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒄. 𝒀𝒆𝒕 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒋𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒚 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒖𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒇𝒍𝒐𝒘. At VTM9, we aim to make you to fly with mood flow, swim from one into another, simply sink into the atmosphere — until places, people and music begin to belong to the same story. This is not only about who plays the music. It is about where the music takes us together. 𝑴𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒓 | 𝑾𝒉𝒐 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚?

We are delighted to welcome DJ Yutan Lin from Taiwan — bringing with her not simply a collection of beautiful tango music, but more than a decade of tango experience and nearly 100 international DJ experiences gathered across the world Her tango journey extends far beyond DJing: she has been deeply involved as a dancer, organizer, music curator, and community builder for more than a decade. She was already organizing the Taiwan Tango Marathon from its early years, and the event went on to celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2025. Her work as an organizer has continued beyond the marathon, including projects such as Taiwan Tango Jam, reflecting her long-standing interest in musicality, body awareness, and the deeper experience of social tango. Alongside her work in Taiwan, Yutan has travelled extensively through the international tango world, dancing and DJing across different countries and communities. Her years on both sides of the dance floor have given her something particularly valuable as a DJ: an understanding of how dancers listen, how a floor breathes, and how musical energy develops throughout a milonga. With more than a decade of experience as a tango organizer and an even longer personal journey in tango, Yutan comes to VTM9 with the perspective of someone who has not simply played tango music, but has spent years living, building and shaping tango experiences. Don Ferrin
View profile →
Mr. Don Ferrin is a Professor of Organisational Behaviour and Human Resources at Singapore Management University. His academic work focuses particularly on trust, interpersonal relationships and human behaviour. Outside his professional and academic life, Tango has been a deep personal passion for Mr. Don since 2012. It is a passion he has pursued with great dedication. Over the years, Mr. Don has spent considerable time learning, dancing, studying tango music and exploring its culture, including spending extended periods in Argentina to deepen his knowledge and understanding of Tango at its source. Through this journey, Mr. Don developed not only as a social dancer but also as a Tango DJ and Tango DJ instructor. His interest goes beyond selecting beautiful music. He studies the orchestras, the construction and flow of tandas, the energy of a milonga and, most importantly, the relationship between the music and the dancers on the floor. For Mr. Don, Tango is also deeply connected to trust and communication. A close embrace becomes a conversation: two people listening, responding and interpreting the music together. Perhaps this is where his two worlds quietly meet — not as professions, but through a shared curiosity about how human beings connect with one another. Since 2012, Tango has taken Mr. Don through years of learning, travelling, dancing, DJing and continually discovering something new. At VTM9 – A Shared Horizon, we are delighted to welcome our dear friend Mr. Don Ferrin from Singapore, bringing with him more than a decade of passion for Tango and a journey that continues to grow.

Since 2017, we have been walking and growing together. Through the years, we have shared ideas, supported one another, and crossed paths in many different parts of this tango journey. Sometimes through events, sometimes through travel, sometimes simply through the friendship that keeps bringing us back together. We are always happy to have Chino with us — not only as a tango lover who deeply understands this world, but as a dearest friend who has shared so many chapters of the journey. At 𝐕𝐓𝐌9 – 𝐀 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐧, we would love to keep another piece of that journey with you. 𝑯𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒐 𝒎𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕. 𝑭𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒇𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒏𝒆𝒓.
